Though most successful businessmen tend to be quite enterprising, less of them than you might think believe that multiple streams of income can be found. The phrase multiple streams of income is attributed to Robert Allen. This is actually one of the best ways to not just become rich, but stay that way.

Creating multiple streams of income has become a reality for entrepreneurs all over the world because of the opportunities that the Internet has created and here are just some of the many ways to help you get started building your income portfolios.

1. Google AdSense

Google’s AdSense program is probably one of the easiest ways for anyone, even a complete newbies, to start building a passive stream of income. AdSense is a pay-per-click advertising network that pays you every time a visitor to your website clicks on an advertisement. Apart from placing a simple piece of code on your website that AdSense provides, the only other real work you have to do is create relevant content and drive traffic to your site.

2. Create an Online Directory

Online directories make great bait for search engine spiders because of its ability to create lots of content very quickly. You can place AdSense on your directory and watch your income grow, but an increasingly popular way of building a passive income with an online directory is by selling text links.

As opposed to more traditional banner advertisements, text links appear in the directory itself. Such links can be sold per month, year, or permanently. Using this system will help to increase your income.

Text links can be used on websites even if they arent online directories. Making a certain part of your web page available for selling links will allow you to take advantage of this opportunity. The price you can charge for such links will depend on how your website is ranked for amount of visitors.

3. Get Paid to Review Products

Another increasingly popular way of creating a new revenue stream is to become a paid blogger. You simply start a blog and get paid to review products, review someone else’s blog, or review just about anything an advertiser would want reviewed. Services like ReviewMe.com and PayPerPost.com caters to both bloggers and advertisers who are interested in this business model.

4. Create a Membership Site

You could start a website with a monthly fee if you believe you can offer information worth such a payment. Offer special services and content to paying members. Knowing that there is specific content reserved for members only will help build your membership and eventually allow you to raise the monthly fee.

5. Selling Domain Names

If you understand how to do it well, handling the sale and purchase of domain names can be a good way to earn income quickly. In order to make money in this way, it is important to learn about the tasks involved and how to complete them. But once you do, you will be able to join the group of people already earning a full-time income through buying and selling domain names.

Yes, it's true. I landed a brand new blog in the #5 spot in Google for a two-keyword phrase in 14 days. How'd I do it? It's simple: I chose the right domain name.

Did you know that Google gives special ranking bonuses to certain kinds of domain names? It does, and a significant bonus at that. Choosing a domain name that exactly matches the keywords you want to rank for will give your site a great head-start in the rankings. It's not a requirement for ranking well, but it does help a good bit.

In the case of the blog that I ranked #5, I purchased the domain name DietersBlog.net. I then posted 10 unique articles to the blog that I hired a ghostwriter to create for me. I didn't get any links, or do any promotion of the site at all (I'll be honest–I got distracted with some other work I was doing).

Two weeks later I checked the stats for the blog. I was happy to see that I was already getting traffic from Google, specifically for the phrase "dieter's blog." I ran the query through Google and, sure enough, my blog was ranked #5. This was in spite of the fact that there are 2.4 million competing web pages in Google's index for the phrase, and despite the fact that the other pages ranking in the top 10 had a few links into them (You do know that Google favors links above all else, right?).

I checked again today, and it's now at #7, but I also found that the blog ranks #3 for "dieters blog" (without the apostrophe). That emphasizes a side point: Google differentiates between keywords with apostrophes (possessive terms) and those just ending in s (plural terms).

So the next time you sit down to create a new site, be careful to do your keyword research before you purchase your domain name. Also, keep in mind that the "Exact Match Bonus" applies more to .com, .net and .org domain names. Avoid .info and the other less known top-level domains.

An exact-match domain name is only the first step, though. Once you have that domain name in place, you have to back it up with links to your site. "Dieter's Blog", while certainly a phrase worth ranking for, is not highly competitive, so I was able to get the ranking just on the strength of the domain name and the site's content. However, for keywords that bring a lot of traffic, you need a lot of links.

My 3WayLinks.net system automatically builds links to your site in the way that Google likes to see, helping you to rank in Google very quickly. The system has achieved thousands of top 10 rankings in Google for hundreds of webmasters, and can do the same for you. For rock-solid proof of its effectiveness, visit 3WayLinks.net now.

It is not possible to have a successful online business without website traffic. This means that implementing an effective traffic building strategy must be central to any overall internet marketing plan. In fact, without website traffic you might as well shut up shop. However, it can be expensive to drive targeted traffic to your website using paid strategies. It is therefore helpful to understand how to get interested visitors to your site without cost.

The first free method of driving traffic to your website is blogging. Most people these days know what blogging is and perhaps you already have one. However, to successfully drive traffic to your website from a blog you need to create an interesting, informative blog that can develop a readership. After all, if no one reads your blog you won’t be able to use it to drive traffic to your site.

With blogging, it is important to submit new posts regularly, preferably daily. It is also important that your blog articles are of a high quality and of particular interest to your targeted audience. One way to attract return visits is to regularly advertise special offers such as a free e-book, template or widget.

Blogs can be an important part of your traffic building strategy because they are very popular with search engines. Every time you add a new post, search engines crawl through your blog and index the page. If you update your blog daily, your chances of gaining a high position on the free search results page is dramatically increased. Blogger and Wordpress are two of the most popular blogging sites. Both allow you to establish a blog free of charge.

Online forums can also be used successfully to generate targeted traffic. By simply posting on forums and using a link to your website as your signature, you can receive the benefit of visitors to your website. You can find forums related to your niche by doing an internet search. Just make sure that the forum is active and has high traffic itself otherwise it might not be worth your time. Once you register on the forum, take some time to browse current posts to get sense of where people are coming from and what they are interested in. When you feel ready, start writing some posts yourself.

It is very important to understand the rules of forum posting. You are generally not allowed to promote your own business or products in forum posts. If you do this, your post will be removed and you will usually get a warning. In some cases, you will lose your forum membership. These rules can sometimes be applied in such an extreme way that even if someone on the forum asks for a recommendation, you still can’t give it. The best way to use the forum is to give generic but helpful information on any given forum topic. In forums, promoting your own business is considered spam even if it is relevant to the thread.

Both blogs and forums can be used to enhance your reputation or “expert” status. Building your credibility is an important aspect of attracting targeted website traffic. After all, if you invest in your own reputation in your particular niche, people will gain confidence in your advice and return to the blog or forum to see what else you have to say.

In your forum signature or blog ‘about me’ page you can provide a link to specific web pages or affiliate programs. If you have taken the time to build credibility with your readers, they will click on your link to check out new articles or special offers. Blogs and online forums are a great addition to any traffic building strategy. They also have the added benefit of being free.

These two traffic building strategies are highly effective and you can begin to use them immediately.

One of the key components to any successful website is the number and quality of their inbound links.

There are many ways in which you can attract links to your site. Some good, some not so good!

One strategy that I have been using very successfully is to combine article writing with Google Alerts.

Here’s how it is done.

Step One: Write some articles.

Start writing articles and ideally make sure they are related in some way to your business.

I suggest you prepare at least a couple of articles and I would avoid writing them in Microsoft Word. Try to use something like Notepad. I’ll explain why in a minute.

When you have a couple of articles of about 400 to 700 words each, you should then submit them to the article submission sites.

Article submission sites are great for getting your articles distributed around the web. Not only do these sites send articles onto other article distribution networks, but lots of website owners come to these sites for content to put onto their own websites.

When you submit your article to one of the submission sites, you are allowed to add an “About the Author” paragraph to go with your article. It is here that you put a link back to your website using whatever keyword phrase you are trying to optimise on.

As you already have your article written you can simply cut and paste the article into the submission forms. I tend to have an “About the Author” paragraph already prepared to cut & paste as well.

Now the reason I suggested using Notepad for your articles is because when you copy from Word it tends to bring with it certain formatting issues and these can cause you article to be rejected by the submission sites. Notepad doesn’t have this problem.

Step Two: Find out who’s using your article.

By using Google Alerts you can set up alerts for each of your articles. I tend to use the article name is it’s fairly unique. Otherwise try using a distinctive line from your article.

Whenever Google finds your article, it sends you an email with the web address of the site where it found it.

You can now check out this site. If you think it will give you good traffic or pass on good page rank, you can contact the website owner. As they already have one of your articles then they probably like your material so you can either offer more articles (with links of course!) or even point them to pages on your site that they should link to because the content would be of interest to their visitors.

So there you have it. One of my tips for building links back to your site.

By the way, you might just like to put your website name into Google Alerts as you’ll be surprised how many alerts that can generate and you can also find many places mentioning your website.

I hate to exercise. I really do. I feel good afterward, and I'm definitely getting in better shape because of it, but I hate it. It's a real chore for me. What do my exercise habits have to do with finding motivation in your business? Hang with me for a bit and it will all make sense. It may even be enlightening.

My son is going to be born in late July, and I knew I'd have to be in better shape to chase him around and prevent him from hurting himself. I know this is going to happen because he's my son, and I was a hand full. That's strong motivation to get in shape, right? Sure it is, but that didn't make it easy.

I'd get on the treadmill bound and determined to walk for 30 minutes, and I'd find ..

Depending on whose figures you're looking at, in the USA, 90% of all new small businesses will fail in their first 5 to 10 years. My personal experience with folks who are trying to "make it" online is that the failure rate is higher and faster. Why? Because when things don't go as planned many just give up and decide that they are unable to succeed on their own.

Is there a true key to success in running a business online? Yes, there is, and it's largely psychological.

My wife and I were browsing a local mall recently, as we occasionally do to get out of the house and do something fun. I'm not a shopper — I hate shopping — but I love bookstores, so I always make it a point to stop at the Borders bookstore when we go. My wife calls me ..

How long has everyone been telling you that Google loves blogs? Months? Years? Well, it's true, and I wanted to share an experience that helps reinforce that truth to you.

The Blog That Resurrected My Rankings

I had a site devoted to a particular type of exercise equipment. The site was in the top 7 results for its keywords in Google for over six months. Unfortunately I had server problems and the site went down for a few days. Google crawled the site constantly because it was well-linked, and so big G knew instantly that the site was down. Since it stayed down for a few days, Google must have decided it wasn't coming back up, and its rankings plummetted.

After the site did come back up, it reappeared in Google, but this time on the third page (ranking 25 - 28 for its ..

Do you know What is Affiliate Marketing? Let’s talk about this

A popular method of promoting web businesses is affiliate marketing. An affiliate marketer is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber and/or customer provided through his efforts. It is a modern variation of the practice of paying finder's-fees for the introduction of new clients to a business. Compensation may be made based on a certain value for each visit (Pay per click), registrant (Pay per lead), or a commission for each customer or sale (Pay per Sale), or any combination.

From the merchant's viewpoint, the best thing about affiliate marketing is that no payment is due to an affiliate until he or she gets results. Some e-commerce vendors use third party services provided by intermediaries to track traffic or sales that are referred from affiliates and some e-commerce sites run their own affiliate programs. Many businesses owe much of their growth and success ..

3 Tips on How to Find Legitimate Work at Home Opportunities

Plenty of people have written about how to avoid work at home scams.  But there’s not much out there about how to actually find the legitimate work at home opportunities.  I’d like to give you some tips.

Look for the boring claims. Sure, you’d love to make $1,000 a day, every day–wouldn’t we all!  But the legitimate work at home programs are more along the range of  “make $400-$600 a week, maybe more if you work a little harder”.  It’s been said before, and I’ll say it again–if a thousand bucks a day for thirty minutes of work was really doing it, we’d all be doing it.

Check out review sites. There are plenty of sites that review work at home opportunities.  Checking these sites out will help you separate the good from the bad.  They’ll also help you find the home ..
